Additional reading
Keith Meservy, “Ezekiel’s Sticks and the Gathering of Israel,” Ensign (February 1987): 4–14. Meservy argues that the “sticks” in Ezekiel 37:15–23 are Babylonian writing boards, and that they represent the scriptural writings found the Bible and the Book of Mormon.
Brian E. Keck, “Ezekiel 37, Sticks, and Babylonian Writing Boards: A Critical Reappraisal,” Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought 23, no. 1 (Spring 1990): 126–38. In his response to Meservy’s Ensign article, Keck argues that writing-boards interpretation of Ezekiel 37:15 “does not hold up to a close inspection.”
Kevin Barney, “OT: Ezekiel’s Sticks,” By Common Consent, 26 January 2006. Barney agrees partly with Meservy and partly with Keck.
