My interpretation of the second half of Daniel (chs. 7–12)—which is drawn from mainstream, scholarly commentaries—is only accurate if this portion of the book of Daniel was written after ca. 167 ʙ.ᴄ. Recent A.I.-aided radiocarbon dating of 4Q114, a manuscript of Daniel chs. 8–11 from the Dead Sea Scrolls, has given it a likely composition date of between 230 and 160 ʙ.ᴄ.
